We hope you'll join us again for another professionally stimulating IUP Spring Methodology Conference on Foreign Language Teaching! The 2010 conference will be held on Friday, April 23, 2010. The conference will be held once again at the beautiful Chestnut Ridge Golf Club and Resort, located at 132 Pine Ridge Road, in Blairsville, just a short distance from Indiana. See the link on the navigation bar for more information.
As always, you can look forward to this yearly event that brings you exciting new ideas that you can take back to your classroom, current issues in language education for you to discuss, opportunities for you to network with other language professionals, and the latest textbooks and materials for you to peruse. As in the past, by attending the full-day conference you can earn up to six hours of Pennsylvania Act 48 professional education credits.
We're thrilled that our keynote speaker for 2009 was Dr. Miles Turnbull, from the University of Prince Edward Island, Charlottetown, PEI, Canada. Dr. Turnbull is an international leader in second language acquisition, foreign language education, and most particularly in Canadian French Immersion education. (See more details about Dr. Turnbull in his bio.) We will let you know who the keynote speaker for 2010 will be in early September if not sooner.
The deadline for session proposals for next year’s conference is Monday, August 3, 2009, so be sure to get those exciting proposals to us.
We look forward to renewing old acquaintances and to meeting teachers attending the conference for the first time! Best wishes for a relaxing, rejuvenating summer and we’ll see you again on Friday, April 23, 2010!
