Este es el momento más oportuno para publicar un volumen celebrando la excelentísima labor del equipo que me acompaña en esta misión compleja pero que me llena de alta satisfacción. Es un gran honor trabajar con gente del calibre profesional como quienes componen la lista de “Los que trabajamos,” como aparece en nuestro portal en la red cibernética. Gracias al trabajo arduo de todo nuestro equipo hemos reforzado nuestra proyección internacional. Hoy en día contamos con suscripciones de universidades e individuos de lugares tan lejanos como Australia, Nueva Zelanda, Corea del Sur, Taiwán, Finlandia, Noruega, Irlanda, Francia, Inglaterra, Bélgica, Alemania, Holanda, Suiza, Canadá y obviamente España, Brasil y muchos países latinoamericanos.
Y claro está que cuando las cosas funcionan las reacciones no se hacen esperar. Muestras de ello se manifiestan en notas con felicitaciones que nos van llegando a lo largo el año. Notas tales como una llegada de España diciendo: “Vuestro trabajo en estos últimos años ha sido inmejorable,” y otra desde Colombia que dice: “Realmente admiro la prolijidad y puntualidad con que sale su revista,” o aun más la que recibimos hace apenas unos días diciendo: “El talento y el rigor con que han evaluado mi trabajo me está ayudando mucho a completar y redondear mi artículo, sé que el producto final será altamente satisfactorio y se lo debo a ustedes. Gracias.”
Por notas como estas que halagan nuestra labor profesional y, en un plano más personal, por la magnífica relación que llevamos desde que comencé mi trabajo como editora de Hispanic Journal hace cuatro años y medio y seis volúmenes y medio, no tengo más que agradecimientos por el apoyo cuando llegan la avalancha, la simpatía cuando el trabajo consume mi tiempo libre y les escribo un sábado a las 10 de la noche y, sobre todo, la honestidad con que se han dirigido a mi en todo momento durante estos años.
Por último les revelo el porque de éste ser el momento más propicio para sacar un volumen en su honor, tengo el grandísimo gusto de anunciarles que con este volumen número 30, correspondiente al año 2009, hemos alcanzado la meta más importante propuesta al comienzo de nuestro trabajo juntos: nuestra revista a partir de ahora sale con una antelación de seis meses. Por todo esto y mucho más que no cabe en una nota, les doy las gracias y celebro por todo lo alto nuestro triunfo WE MADE IT!

This is the most opportune moment to bring out a volume celebrating the most excellent work of the team that accompanies me on this complex, though personally very satisfying, mission. It is a great honor to work with people of the professional caliber of those who make up the list of “We who do the work” on our internet homepage. Thanks to the hard work of our whole team we have strengthened our international component. Today we have individual and university subscriptions from as far away as Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, Taiwan, Finland, Ireland, Norway, France, England, Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Canada and, obviously, Spain, Brazil and many Latin American countries.
And of course when things are working well the feedback is quick in coming. Proof of that is found in the congratulatory messages we keep receiving throughout the year. We receive notes such as this one from Spain: “Your work these past few years has been peerless,” and another from Columbia: “I really admire the meticulous and punctual manner with which you produce your journal,” or this one that arrived just a few days ago: “Your capable and rigorous evaluation of my article is of great help to me as I complete the finishing touches to it; I know that the final product will be highly satisfactory and I owe this to you. Thank you.”
From notes such as these praising our professional labors and, on a more personal level, from the marvelous relationship we have enjoyed since I began my work as editor of the Hispanic Journal four and a half years and six and a half volumes ago, I have nothing but gratefulness for your support when the “avalanche” arrives, your understanding when work consumes my free time and I write you at ten o’clock at night, and above all, your sincerity at all times during these years.
Finally, let me reveal to you why this is the most propitious moment to bring out a volume in your honor: I take the greatest pleasure in announcing to you that with this volume number 30 for the year 2009 we have achieved the most important goal set forth at the beginning of our work together: as of now our journal will be published six months ahead of schedule. For all of this and much more that cannot fit in a note, I thank you and I celebrate in style our triumph,
