This site will also connect you to the American Cancer Society branch for your state that has useful information about local cancer fundraisers and information.

   

The American Heart Association

. This site will assess your risk of getting heart disease and ways you can reduce your risk along with other statistics and scientific information. Like the American Cancer Society, this web site will contact you to a local American Heart Association site.

 

Social Watch

This site calls itself an international watchdog coalition. It has mostly political information but has very good health and demographic information for a large number of mostly under developed countries. Under country reports, it will give you a graph showing infant mortality for a country you choose along with other graphs not associated with health.

Health World Online

            http://www.healthy.net/

This site offers information on every aspect of health. It discusses a large range of individual illnesses, the legal aspects of health and medicine, includes information about how to maintain a healthy lifestyle, and discusses alternative therapies. This site is very comprehensive and easy to use.

 

Mental Health Matters

Very comprehensive site covering many aspects of mental health. Includes information on patients' rights, alternative therapies, help numbers, and general information about different illnesses.
