Marla A. Sabo ’79
Marla Sabo is recognized as
a 2007 distinguished alumna for her renowned success in business development
and advancing the French influence in
America
in fashion design and merchandising. As president and chief operating
officer of Christian Dior Couture, Inc.,
Americas, Ms. Sabo held one of the most
prominent and powerful American positions in the business of high
fashion. Ms. Sabo earned a Bachelor of Science degree in French Secondary
Education from IUP in 1979 and completed master’s studies in Arts Twentieth
Century from the Université de la Sorbonne Paris III in
France
in 1983. Currently, Ms. Sabo serves on the boards of New York Landmarks
Conservancy and the Luxury Education Foundation/
Columbia
Business School and Parsons School of Design. She is also active in
charitable fundraising for arts institutions and cancer research.
