Richard Pegnetter, Jr., '66,
Richard Pegnetter is
recognized as a 2007 distinguished alumnus for his contributions in
teaching, research. and executive administration at universities across the
nation and his service in economic program development in many
Florida
communities. Dr. Pegnetter studied English and Liberal Arts at the
University
of Pennsylvania and
earned both a Bachelor of Arts degree in Humanities and a Master of
Education degree in Social Sciences from IUP in 1966. A Dean’s List honoree,
he was active on the wrestling and football teams at IUP. He received a
Ph.D. in Industrial and Labor Relations from
Cornell
University in 1971. Dr.
Pegnetter also served in the United States Marine Corps Reserve from 1960 to
1965. Currently, Dr. Pegnetter serves as interim president of
Florida
Gulf Coast
University and dean of its
Lutgert College of Business.
