| Workshop was a beehive of social activities |
| After a full day of classes the students
participating in the IUP Summer Honors program need time to unwind. The
two hours of free time before dinner were filled homework, sleeping reading
and just relaxing.
Any time of the day people could be found in Wallace Hall's game room, playing pool and Ping-Pong or watching the big screen TV. They could also sign out to go anywhere on campus. While taking a walk to the Hub or to the tennis court you were bound to run into at least one person that was part of the Honors program. After dinner students were given a wide variety of activities to participate in. They were required to sign up for one activity and stay for the duration of it. Some of the activities offered included swimming, playing pool, Movies, tennis, surfing the net, hiking and taking a trip to the campus library. Not only did students form friendships with people from class and the dorms but with the counselors. Counselors and students went to Café Curio, the pool and in the supermarket talking about IUP, college life, and a variety of other things. In order to go anywhere off campus student were required to have a councilor accompany them. During the week students were given the chance to explore a field of interest and an opportunity to meet a diverse group of peers. |
