For 2006-2007
Seven journalism majors will be awarded $1,000 each.
To be eligible for one of the Virginia Ann Deem Memorial Scholarships you must:
- be enrolled in the Journalism Department
- be in good academic standing
- have financial need (as established by IUP's office of Financial Aid).
How to apply. Follow the two steps below.
A. Download the instructions.
B. Do the following assignment. Either write the news release to your hometown paper that announces your scholarship award. OR, write a brief story about your scholarship award. Be creative.
Hand in both A and B to the Secretary, Journalism Department, 434 Davis Hall, no later than April 14, 2006, 4 p.m.
Awards
The Awards Committee will rank the top seven applicants and announce the winners on or before April 22.
