Welcome to

Module 1: Introduction to Community Journalism
Module 2: Basic Journalism Skills

If you have not received the videos for Modules 1 and 2 please follow
the instructions below for your first day of class.

Step 1:
Go to facilitators.

Step 2
You may want to print the
instructions for facilitators. Read the instructions carefully.

Step 3
Go back to the course website homepage. (You can click on homepage
at
the bottom or You can use the back arrow in your menu bar at the top
left corner of your screen)

Step 4

Find and click Syllabus. It is on both Modules
Have the students read the syllabus. This is also contained in the
videos. But just in case you have not seen the videos you can read
the
syllabus information.

For Module 2 Click on Vol 2 Part 1 Introduction. You may be able to
watch a small introductory video for Module 2.

Step 5.
Click on Login instructions. This is a PowerPoint presentation that
takes you step by step on how to log on to the course webCT. The
course webCT is different from the course website. I am still
preparing the usernames and passwords for the students. So you will
not be able to get into the webCT until you have received
usernames  and passwords. If you want try to log into the webCT use guest for
both your username and password. Otherwise wait until you get your
username and passwords

Step 6.
Have students send me an email based on the following
assignment, which can also be found on the syllabus.

Do you read newspapers? Magazines? Other publications?
Do you watch TV? Listen to radio?
What information/programs or stories do you like to read about? Or
watch on TV?
Do you sometimes access the Internet?
Give a summary of some of the stories you recently read in a
newspaper, magazines, other publications or the Internet.
