Mahamed H. Mahamud Omar of the KULMIYE has said that the people who voted for his party  showed their confidence, and belief in  the  party.

“We are not too late to win the race because we  are the last party in formation of our political parties and gained  42.24 percent of the votes, while the leading party (UDUB) gains 42.4 percent, the  rest of the votes were won by the third party, UCID.”

Commenting on the parliamentary elections  Omar  said: “We are going
to gain the largest number in the parliament seats, because we hope
that our party is going to gain a lot of votes.

”Yes of course we have to agree on the results, and we have to agree on the
elections committee. They are good personalities, faithful, and
neutral, and that is why we are going to  exercise our democratic rights.”

He said his party’s policy  on  the recognition of  Somaliland and
the Somali reconciliation conference on the Mbgathi was:
"Somaliland Sovereignty is not negotiable.”
