The universities of Hargeisa, Amoud and East Africa are offering through  distance education a  Bachelor of Arts Degree  in Journalism and Mass Communication.

To get a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism Degree a student must meet the graduation requirements of the university the student is enrolled in. The following is a draft outline of  B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communication Degree.

First Term.

PS001 Media and African Political systems 

JMC001 Introduction to Journalism

Non Journalism courses. Students must take any two non journalism courses  (NJC) courses each semester offered at the university in the following areas. Students may also substitute other course but with instructor’s permission.

First Term

Independent projects. (two terms) Student must work on first independent project as assigned by instructor. Project will require the use of all skills student has learned in the journalism courses.

Independent project. Student must work on second  independent project as assigned by instructor. Project will require the use of all skills student has learned in the journalism courses.
