Traditional court looses public confidence

Ethopian troops in Mogadhisho capital recently clashed  with the clan militia. 

 

After Islamic Courts left the capital Mogadisho became a battle ground.

 

The conflict began again when the Ethiopian and TNG troops ordered the civilians and militia  Groups to disarm.

 

More than one thousand civilians were killed and several thousand others were injured.

About one million people fled from the capital after heavy war that had been raging for four days at that time.

 

Mogadisho elders met on 12 April, talked about the fighting and eventually appealed

for cease fire. 

 

The cease fire did not hold for long,. A new conflict and violence have restarted.
