The growing population in Hargeisa has caused water shortages.

Speaking during an interview, the Director General of Hargeisa Water
Agency, Omer Hadule, said it was not true that electrical
generators had failed to pump enough water.

”It was true before that the generator did not have enough power. But
now we have enough a power generators to pump water.”

Hadule  also said equipment shortage had been a problem before,
but now it was largely the population growth in Hargeisa.
He said plans were underway to find enough water for the ever growing
city.
