2. This explains what the term "bourgeois class" means. This is probably a bit hard to follow if you don't know your Marx, but it should be pretty clear after you read the book.

3. This is the thesis of the book, that a qualitative change is taking place in the Parisian middle class.

4. So this next part is describing what the bourgeoisie was like before it began to change.

5. Now a section on the changes.

6. Some reasons why the changes took place.

7. Finally a section on what it was like after all the changes had taken place. This is the final section that deals with what the book says. After this it is all me talking about how well these points have been proved.

8. A number of weaknesses in the book, mostly connected to weaknesses in the sources.

9. Now some weaknesses that have to do with what Garrioch chose not to talk about.

10. This fits the book into the larger context of the historiography of the Revolution. I put this in because it sums things up well, but I would not expect you to know this sort of stuff.
